Privacy notice

Oxbow is run by Vibe Frontier, LLC. This notice explains what the website and the game server record. Questions or requests: support@oxbowmc.com.

The website

The site sets no cookies and uses no analytics, advertising or tracking. It stores nothing in your browser. Our host, Cloudflare, handles technical request data such as your IP address to deliver the pages.

• Server status. The page asks /api/status, which connects to the game server and returns only the player count, the player limit and the version. It sends nothing about you to the game server.
• Username lookup. When you enter a Java username in the store, our site checks it is 3–16 letters, numbers or underscores, then sends only that username to playerdb.co, a public Minecraft profile service, to find the account's ID and skin. It then fetches the skin image from Mojang's texture server and shows your head so you can confirm. Our server makes these requests on your behalf; your browser only talks to oxbowmc.com. We cache a found username for about an hour, a username that doesn't exist for about five minutes, and skin images for up to a day, so repeat lookups don't go out again. We store nothing else about lookups.
• Copy IP. Writes play.oxbowmc.com to your clipboard, only when you click it.

Purchases

When you buy, Stripe collects your payment details and email address and emails your receipt; card numbers never reach us. The checkout link carries the Minecraft account ID you confirmed, so we can deliver the item. We receive the purchase record from Stripe (item, amount, time, the account ID and the email you gave Stripe) and keep it to deliver, refund and account for purchases. Stripe's handling is covered by its own privacy policy.

The game server

The game server records your Minecraft name and account ID, when you play, your chat, block changes, your votes and your in-game balances, ranks and items. We use this to run the world, deliver rewards and purchases, and investigate griefing or cheating.

Other services

Discord, the server lists you vote on, and Stripe are separate services with their own privacy terms. When you vote, the list tells our server the username you entered so we can reward you.
